China announced that it would support a total of 50,000 Chinese and American students to study in each other's country in the next three years.

The United States announced it would expand the 100,000 Strong Initiative from U.S. universities to elementary and high schools to achieve the goal of having one million U.S. students studying Chinese by 2020.

The two sides will designate 2016 as China-U.S. Tourism Year-a cooperative tourism initiative led by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the China National Tourism Administration to expand and shape travel between the two countries.
