A special squadron of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy South China Sea fleet conducted a search and rescue drill in the eastern Indian Ocean, Xinhua News Agency reported on Feb. 20. The formation of vessels in Changsha and Haikou simulated the rescue of a hijacked merchant ship.
